poppasmurf 377 Report post Posted July 25, 2017 Hi guys, with the weather the way it is(bloody horrendous) I have been scouring the net and planetarium programs trying to decide what my next few targets for imaging will be, which made me wonder how you lot decide what your next target/s will be? Radar 712 Report post Posted July 26, 2017 Hi Mate, I use the planetarium software to find what's up there. I then slew around to various objects and check how much signal to noise I get from each one. If I get a good signal to noise ratio I'll then google it to see if its got the type of detail and structure I like (dust fingers, globules, etc). I am light polluted so this is how I select mine, I make sure that there is enough S/N first. Ray
