re:meade ls200gps

G'day,

Yes, the 'scope is for sale, I have it, but, here is some unfortunate information regarding the 'scope, and the person that had possession of it.

His size information was incorrect. The Meade LX200GPS is a 12" model, NOT 14".

The arrogant person has refused to send equipment such as the handbox, power leads, manual etc. I've had to buy them myself. I've also updated the software.

He will shortly receive action against him.

Thanks for the info Vincent. I'm still interested - what's 2in anyway! haha.

Just wanted to inquire on the condition of the scope, what extras (if any) it comes with, what type of mount it has (alt-az or wedge or equ.).

And why are you selling it now? Are you really after a 14in plus one??

I wouldn't mind inspecting it sometime too, if that's convenient with you.

Thanks,

Wayne

G'day Wayne,

I already owned a 12" LX200GPS, and still have it.

The stupid fellow said his was 14", so I decided to buy it.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see it first. I live at Coffs Harbour. A little too far for you to have a look at it too.

It has a 2" diagonal prism, 50mm viewfinder, and the large tripod. No wedge.

I bought a wireless handbox for it.

It works pretty well. I've used it on my polar pier while my 'scope was away getting repaired from lightning strike. It's back now though.

Regards

Vincent

Oops I don't know why I thought you were in Adelaide! No problem though.

Do you know how old it is? Why did the previous owner sell it?

So everything that I would need for it is included? ie an eyepiece, cables etc..

How would you rate it against your other 12in? The same or slightly inferior perhaps? Just trying to guage what it's like!

And lastly how much do you want for it?

If you prefer please email me direct: powerii@hotmail.com

Cheers,

Wayne

Sorry to hear the bad news and problems you have had Vincent.

I had a feeling there was something fishy , which was why i reminded people what a 14in was really worth!!!

Im not far from you by the way..lol...Yamba.

Anyhow , might be a good idea to start a new for sale thread if your are wanting to sell it yourself.

Just to save confusion for anyone else who reads this thread.

I just got mine fixed too , also from a lightning stike...i think??

Didnt hit the observatory but hit the power pole out the front of the house.

cheers

Patrick
