Every now and again, it is nice to have a look at what some of the top amateurs, semi-professional and professionals use in their imaging sessions. Given the wide variety of top optical systems, it is an educational experience to look at the Ritchey-Chrétien optical system. I have no propriety interest in R/C Optical Systems, however, this site is well worth a visit. http://www.rcopticalsystems.com/24inch.html

I came upon this link when I visited this link and saw what 50 hours of exposure looks like in the Orion area, courtesy of imaging guru, Robert Gendler.

Amazing what a serious amateur can achieve with a 12.5" telescope in his light polluted driveway, an inspiration to us all.

Enjoy

Hi Shev, I always like to ogle other people's equipment. I have visited Robert Gendler's website many times. He is most certainly a guru with astro imaging.

50 hours exposure time is one heck of an effort. Just the processing side of things would have been mammoth.
