Managed to get some imaging runs on Jupiter Thursday night with seeing much better then what it has been lately. The two pics attached are from 2 avis recorded at the start of the session, conditions deteriorated pretty rapidly unfortunately.

Hi,

Very nice shots indeed, good to see one of our Forum members getting some top images of Jupiter. What scope & camera please. Details always help to appreciate the image results.

Clear skies...

:thumbsupmate: Thanks fellas ........yes Tony with the new gear :eartoear: , Sheviil gear used C9.25 with a ToUcam pro and 3xTelevue barlow {maybe should of used a 2xpowermate given the windy conditions}. Recorded 10 avis { the left hand pick above was shot with 10fps and the right 5fps} and experimented with the capture settings in K3ccdtools but maintaining the histogram in K3 at around 215-222 {at 5fps it was tricky to keep at that level without overexposing the zones }. Used virtualdub , PCFE ,registax 4, astra image and PS2 for processing and split the promising avis into RGB channels for maybe better results.

Beren ,no words describe what you have captured there ,,,brilliant is all i can say.

I remember years ago , this capture quality was only possible within a big observatory , profesional gear, and 10 phd's and diplomas.

so well done mate

Clear skies

Those are very nice pictures! I was not able to get a picture of Jupiter this year through my Dob! I got a few good ones using slooh.com though!

Good Job!
