Hi all,

A nice fellow asked for a design for a wedge for his SCT, so while I was at it, I thought I would go the whole hog and add it to the DIY page on the A.S.I.G.N. Observatory website.

http://www.asignobservatory.com/DIY.aspx

Its a start, a good guide and open for as many modifications as your skills and imagination will allow.

I hope it comes in handy for those looking to move onto astrophotography.

This is a simple and rigid wedge, that will get the job done.

Cheers,

Baz.

Excellent work Baz, the entire DIY section is very well done.
Your observatory is a stunner mate :welldone: i love geodesic domes :eartoear: something to be very proud of and no mistake.
Wish i had the skill, time, spare cash to convert my 6x4m garage into an observatory.
All the very best mate..........

Just love the DIY section of your site. The other bits are great too but I am a bit of a DIY nut

hi mate, what kind of welder do you use, there are so many different types. I guess you need one for aluminum?

Hi Del. At home I am only equipt with a standard home arc welder for steel only.

I really would love a TIG welder for aluminium, but am restricted to using one at work or taking my welding projects to professional welders.
