Those DSLR's are quite versatile. I tried using film for this event. I had a white light filter and a PST, but I used a film that was too fast. Thus all images came out overexposed. :crying23:
You captured Mercury well with that camera though. Well done. :thumbsupmate:

I used two camreas, the modded Canon 300D in the C8 and my Pentax *istDS and a 50-500 Sigma APO lens for the others. The seeing was horrid and it was also raining at times, mainly cloudy though.

Beautiful work! Love the way the planet is dwarfed by that big sunspot complex. Really puts things in perspective!

Hi Folks,
We had 100% C.R.A.P. weather down here in Tasmania as well on that day, (the day before & day after were superb cloudless days) however I managed some through the cloud shots at early and late times, which came out OK.
The transit images as well as images of the equipment setup used, will feature in a forthcoming issue of Sky and Space Magazine, for all to enjoy.
Events such as this are well-known 'drought breakers'. As Dusty just said, "Roll on the next Transit of Venus" I will second that.
Clear skies...
