Loving this it tell ya!
This one took me hours to set-up, photograph and process, but I am extremely happy with my little ED80 and Canon 400 D set-up.
Lagoon Nebula 17 minutes at F/7.5 ISO800 Darks and offsets removed blah blah. Processed with Deep sky stacker.
Manually tracked using an illuminated reticule on fork mounted C11 (polar aligned on an equatorial wedge)with the camera on the ED80, piggybacking on top.
I think I'm getting the hang of this.......
Baz.

You have captured a very 3d looking shot of the lagoon Baz. You should be proud. I love the way you can see that awesome star cluster at its centre to.
Because this exposure has not gone for to long, you seem to have also caught blue reflection nebula in front of the red emission nebula. Something I've never seen before.
This shot looks totally professional. I don't think it has any artificial feel to it. I feel like I'm peering through a window at something completely natural.

Great work Baz, the long wait to set up really paid off. The Lagoon is one of my favorites and you certainly have a huge FOV bringing out all the detail from this little gem. It’s good to see manually tracking (been there and done that. ). With NGC253 positioned for good viewing soon, it will be good to see what your camera can do or have you already got one of it?

Actually astrogran. I have been waiting for years for NGC253. I first saw it about 5 years ago but my 35mm would not capture it. Stay tuned!
