Well as Stuart, Ray, Colin and Stephen will tell you it's been really poor weather around Prth for the last few days and nights :crying23:
But i was determined to image something tonight, so i sat waiting by the scope, listening to green day on the laptop for a gap in the clouds 814

Only got two chances for a 350 frame avi and a 750 frame avi.
Had to ditch most of the second one as well.

Here is what i got though. A bit over processed....but what the hey
All the best..........

HI Tony,

:welldone:

I'm amazed that you managed to image anything at all, yet alone a great shot like that.

Cheers Colin

Keep posting them Tony. You are inspiring me to start planetary imaging. These threads are good. I have this webcam type imager, and it came with a cheap lens and draw tube which I removed. I had read somewhere that people remove the IR filters from their webcams to so I removed the IR filter, but now seeing that people leave in their IR filters for planetary work. :duh:

I think I am going to attempt Jupiter tonight.

Thanks Ray, i'll keep going while jupiter is well placed in the sky.
What type of web cam have you got?
Have you had a go with it yet?

Not sure about the IR filters that come with other web cams, i have only used the philips tou-cam and that has no filter in front of the ccd chip.
The tou-cam is however very IR sensitive, hence the need for an IR blocking filter.
If i remember (my memory is shocking :duh: ) i will grab an avi with the filter and one without and post the result :thumbsupmate:
I didn't get out last night as i was very tired, but if it clears tonight i will get out and grab some photons
All the best Ray and thanks for the support mate :thumbsupmate:
