Venus and saturn Conjunction

hi all
i went outside to have a look at the conjunction of venus and saturn earlier this evening. the close angular pairing of planets is one of the coolest wide field views i reckon there is.
i also found my old sony 1.3 mega pixel ccd cyber shot camera earlier in the day....so i took a few snaps.
i did not think the result was too bad considering it was hand held - i did use the night setting to assist.
i believe the pair will be a little closer tomorrow night so i may even get some more practice.
hope you enjoy....and imagine what it really looked like from downtown brisbane.

Very nice, you lucky devil, we have clear skies during the day and as evening draws in so do the clouds, just enough to obscure Saturn.

Lovely shot Matt, better than the one i got.
The clouds where zipping along and i only got one shot out of ten before they came over for the night.
A good astro-event is akin to getting new astro gear, you can nearly always guarantee crap weather :hmm:
