Due to the inclement weather in the north in my spare time I have been entertaining myself with some of H G Wells not so well know stories, I have been fascinated with his stories for sometime now. If you like a good read you can find most of his works on line at the following link. My favorite short story so far is "A Dream of Armageddon" reading it made me feel like I've been there.

Good to hear Mick. I'll keep a lookout for them. Shame they don't make more movies from his work.

He must be compulsory reading for Sci fi move makers. Makes you wonder about prophecy and fiction when you read content like this.

"No one living, you know, knew what war was; no one could imagine, with all these new inventions, what horror war might bring. I believe most people still believed it would be a matter of bright uniforms and shouting charges and triumphs and flags and bands--in a time when half the world drew its food supply from regions ten thousand miles away--"

Hi Mick,

Read most of his novels when I was at high school. I've been trying to track them down again - I think I might have to start hunting in the old secound hand books stores though.

I know you can get most of them on line as e-books, but I have never been able to read books on a computer - prefer the feel of the books in my hands.

Cheers Colin

Been meaning to read H G Wells literature for ages, interesting man for sure both for his imaginative stories and views on politics. I enjoyed the remake of the Time machine with Guy Pearce from a few years back.

Colin after reading your post I was inspired to do a search at one of the best places for paper publications, the local library. It's funny you know they have a great selection of H G Wells and I enjoyed the peace and quiet of the reading space. Thanks for the reminder mate. :thumbsupmate:

Beren I like the George Pal version the best but there are some specky special effects in the newer version.
