Hi there all you guys and gals who wont see this because you're outside with the scopes tonight..........Im clouded in tonight:crying23:
Well last night was good but , got lazy and did a b/w of the Lagoon Nebula.
Its 30 , 30sec shots stacked and processed in Photoshop.
Radar when are you getting the digital bug! These DSI-2pro's are good fun, even alt/az mounted. Noticed in another post you said you are waiting to get a bigger scope,, well with a ccd camera you dont need a big scope, your 8in sc will be fine!!
Hope you all like it.

G'day Pat, nice work mate. The black and white images can really reveal some great detail.
As far as getting the digital bug, I want to get a DSLR and a CCD camera. I want to be able to do tri colour imaging and hubble palette stuff. I'll hopefully be in the market for a DSI Pro in the next few weeks.
Be interesting to see how well my 8inch does.
Cheers

I see what you mean Pat, that chip must be tiny. I wanted to get a larger scope because objects such as the ring nebula are tiny when photographed. I'm like how big some of those objects appear.
So the Meade DSI Pro is a black white camera that requires filters?

Hi Ray, yes the pro is the b/w camera and needs filters to do RGB or Narrowband (line imaging) but the b/w has better resolution than color ones (same size chip)because it doesent loose info because of the Bayer Matrix (tiny color filter on each pixel).
Actually your 8in has a bigger field of view at f10 than my12in at f10!
So a f3.3 reducer on your 8in would be great.
Bigger chip in the version 2 dsi's is great, but if u want a bigger chip you need heaps more $$$$well $$$$$$$$$ closer to it..lol
Dsi-2pro is what u need to do all the styles of imaging you want to try.Too a budget.

Thanks Pat.
I'm starting to grasp how versatile this thing is (taking into account the price).
I'm going to watch those vids now.
