Hi AstroLounge,
I have not used one, but I have researched the structural performance of them and read many reveiws. In a nut shell, they are a good mount. Extremely durable and accurate. Though customer service may rank low.
To be honest I can't remember one bad mention about the way the mount performs.
Keep us posted on what you do mate.
Cheers
Ray

My apologies for the late reply, the PC I use for email is giving me a hard time and I may well have lost some emails along the way.
Yes, I have the Alhena mount, it is fitted with shaft & motor encoders and uses the German made FS2 controller-(Silent in operation) I have had this from new and cannot fault it. You can see from my Picasa album that it can be a very versatile system due to the high load it can carry (65kg). Unfortunately, they are no longer made, the replacement mount is even better - but the cost is higher. Mine cost me around $8.5 k with the FS2 and extra encoders. The new replacement is over $10K
If buying a S/H version, I would make absolutely sure that it has not been taken apart or fiddled with in any way at all.

I saw a Alhena mount the other day on one of the Au buy/sell sites, I didn't realise how big it was until i checked out Sheviil's awesome setup :thumbsupmate: . Good luck with it Mick I can't help but have you checked the Anseen site with the new Ellesa mount, looks impressive .....as a side track great to see a Aussie company building gear like this but a pity they havent got a mount that the average Aussie backyard punter {Me  } would go for in the league of say the G11 and CGe
