Hi folks. This was taken 26 May at Perth Lunatiks night, Extreme cloud then rain except for a couple of small breaks in the cloud when I managed to setup/focus/shoot a couple of avi files using the NexImage on the 10" newt on the EQ6 also used the new electronic focuser for the first time, The 30:1 reduction was magnificent. Its also the first attempt using registax. This is one new ball game.
Incidently there was still some whispy clouds sculling across the moon at the time.

Ray. It was gleaned from 1000 frames from an AVI file (A lot were dropped) I only did a two point alignment. I dont have a video editor to select a particular section. This is a first time effort and I was pressing buttons unknown and hoping for the best
Improvement will come when I get my drivers permit.:yesplease: Next time will keep the AVIs' shorter to around 30 seconds. Also play around with filters etc.

Phoenix: Location of Crater This was a 10 day waxing moon And the area Mare Insularum The large crater is Copernicus below the Carpathian Mts and the lower crater is Reinhold ... North is up. I think most people shoot the moon South up. But we had so very little time when it appeared such niceties were abandoned, plug in and shoot in the small gap in the clouds

Most of the terminator is mare on the 10 day moon Tycho South and Copernicus North, are the two major craters with good detail ... But of course you knew that :pipethinker:

Thanks for comments makes the effort all worth while

Here's one just for you Medusa I downloaded Virtual Dub and edited the AVI file and selected a section further along the the terminator. No doubt everyone will recognise Tycho Bullialdus and Clavius. :)

What a great start Dave. Can't wait to see the results when you get your 'driver's license'!
