I know the thread is bit old, but so is this panorama I shot of Perth a few years ago using a Canon A75 and the Canon software that came with the camera. This is a 180 degree shot from The Causeway too South Perth.
Click on the image to enlarge then use L & R Arrows to slide the pic.

It's good how Autostitch is all automated but sometimes I like to have more control over software.
I wonder how this program will go with shots of the night sky.

Yes, That's the Swan river. The stadium is the WACA ground, where we try to play cricket. behind that is Gloucester Park, the Trotting Park Moving left to the central business district you can see the Bell Tower also known locally as the Cockroach (Dicky Court's folly) amongst other names, near the Barrack St jetty. Moving left is another blot on the landscape The new Perth Convention Centre also known as the Hayshed, it has no views whatsoever of the Swan River, all windows look up the hill to Parliament house. Dont know if there is a significant meaning there. It looks like someone has dropped a large block of concrete on the landscape.
Moving on is the Narrows Bridge, which is now two bridges also carrying the new Mandurah rail link. There are two opposing factions in Perth between those who live North or South of the river..!! Something like the Yankees V the Johnny Rebs :eartoear:
Behind that is King's Park, about the only place in Perth that has not been screwed up, it is unique in that it is the original bushland set aside by the founding fathers of the Swan Colony along the internal roadways all the trees have been dedicated to fallen members of the armed services each with a plate with a name etc on it.
The scene ends up in South Perth a medium high rise, high density residential and office area. Travel down the southbound Kwinana freeway about 8 km do a left turn for another 5km to my leafy suburb. Try getting into the city at 8am and it will take an hour and a half..
The zone between the eastern end of Perth and the river known as Langley Park was the original Perth Airstrip and is now used to hold various events and is public open space. It was used last year when they held the inaugural Perth Pylon Racing event for the control point and aerodrome.

Yes, Autostitch is quite a good bit of software. I've been using it for a few months now, and have some great panoramas from our recent trip to NZ. One of them is attached, a daylight pic taken from Mount John, site of the University of Canterbury's MOA 1.8-m Telescope, plus others. It covers about 170 degrees. http://www.phys.canterbury.ac.nz/research/mt_john/facilities.shtml
Here's another one I took just a couple of nights ago of Moreton at night. It was taken with the Nikon D70 and 18-70mm lens at 18mm, 1600 ISO for 30 secs. It covers an angle of approx. 100 degrees centred just a little east of south. Crux and the pointers are top, right of centre with Gacrux cut off from cropping the image.
