Hi all. The latest in my list of modifications is the fitting of an electric motor to my GSO 10:1 Crayford focuser. Bintel are selling the new Skywatcher Motor unit with speed controller (Just a small LM317 variable voltage regulator which varies the voltage from 6 to 3 volts app) The motor has a reduction gearbox on the end. -- Incidently a slightly larger motor is available from Jaycar with an identical gearbox !
The SW unit is designed for the R&P focuser so a bush will have to be made to reduce the coupling diameter from 6mm to 2.5mm and the mount reversed so it will mount on the tube and not the focuser. Works extremely well, the low speed output is 2 rpm, then reduced by 10 gives for very fine focusing.

So cut the waffle Dave and show them the picture :)

By the way Ray is an Observatorties and Observatory made of cake?
