I saw some great telescopes tonight. The other people at this place were using a 12 inch LX200. A c14 on the CGE mount and also a Tak refractor on a Vixen (sorry for not knowing the model numbers on some of this stuff).

The C14 and the Meade LX200 gave amazing views. I'd never actually looked through scopes this size before. All I could say was wow!

Pentax and Nagler eyepeices were being used, and both yeilded great views of the heavens. The Tarantula (through the C14) looked like it looks in photos (without the colour), but all the detail was there. I was amazed.

I want a large aperture scope! :crying23:

Yeah those large apertured scopes can really deliver great views. I just need a car big enough to fit one in.

Astro Camps are good for looking at other people's scopes. I dunno what it is, but I just love checking out other people's equipment (is that normal?).

There are some great products on the market these days. Most companies are now making very high quality mounts. It is hard to go wrong.
