I have been reading up on these cameras.

http://www.optcorp.com/productList.aspx

Can a hubble filter set be used with this camera? I can only find RGB filters for them.

Patrick rates them high which has made me look into them, but I just want to make sure that they can do sulphur 2 oxygen 3 and HA imaging.

Cheers

Ray

Hi Radar,

The four filters that come with the camera are the standard 1.24" RGB +IR Blocker. All you need to do is buy whatever filter set you want from True Technology or similar supplier. If you go the DSI 2 way, I would strongly advise buying an enclosed filter wheel with mounting adaptor and do away with the sliding bar that comes with the camera.

I tried mine once and the whole thing was dripping with condensation, so I am waiting until the new dome is finished. The sliding bar arrangement is not a precision product by any means and I found it annoying to use.

Lots of users go this way, especially those who image outdoors. As supplied the filters are exposed to the elements and getting scratched, covered in dew etc.

In your case you would need either two filter wheels or a single larger one, I would go for two lower cost ones that seem very popular for this conversion.

I need to find out the make- from the USA of course.

Clear skies...
