Hi Again,
Here are a couple of outstanding lunar images from a friend of mine in the USA.

Both taken with a camera which has become very popular with solar system imagers, at less than $US 390.

Hi Robert,
The lunar images are composed of several frames as a mosaic to get that sort of image scale with a 640 x 480 imaging device. They are often done like this to show specific areas in greater detail.

Yes, some amazing detail in those pics, and with a pretty affordable camera too! There are some interesting features shown, especially in the second link. (The 'To Buy' list is becoming top-heavy!)
I took a pic myself this morning of the waning Moon in the western sky - it looked so magic I just had to take a pic. Of course the photo does not do it justice, and it is rather bland after looking at Tony Gondola's photos, but here it is anyway.
