Hey Omaroo
Nice collage, Shame you couldn't get the middle of it due to time, Is it hard to aline the tiles ?

Hey there Jason. No - it's not difficult when you do it the proper way - like I've done for this second attempt using a new set of tiles imaged this evening. I used Photoshop's PhotoMerge routines. Simple!
Cheers

Hey Chris,
That will look awesome on the wall. It would be massive I imagine. Nice effort mate. Love to see it when the middle is done.
Cheers for posting it.

Hi Chris,
Very nice 2nd shot. You need to allow approx 25-30% overlap as a rule of thumb. It is a nice challenge to keep in mind which areas you have covered!
This is perhaps the optimum way to get a really large, detailed lunar image from a small web cam chip. Also getting a sky free of clouds, which does not seem easy these days.
A future article in Sky and Space magazine will appeal to you "Lunatics" - me included.
Thanks for sharing & Clear skies...

Hi Omaroo, great work there mate. :thumbsupmate:
Maybe, if you haven't got photoshop, you could give this shareware program a try. Its called 'Imerge' and although i have it installed myself, haven't gotten round to using it (due to my laziness), but it is supposed to be very good.

I've just been looking at that second collage again. It's so good it makes me want to grab it and get moon dust up my nose and on my shirt ... Oh oh! Time for my pill again!

hehe...thanks fellas. Me too.... I love the moon. It's so nice to get some luck in imaging it, so thanks for the positive comments. I plan to get the 12" LX200 out of the cupboard soon and do some close-in imaging with it. Quite a difference between it and the little 66mm I used for this shot. I do have to say that the 66mm WO scope is a little gem - even the semi-APO. I can't see any purple stuff anywhere in my image, so I guess it's pretty good for a non APO. I've bought a second one now as well, so maybe I'll get to make me little binoscope yet.
I've got my eye on a 5x Barlow... so here's to the next full moon and some craters....... :)
Cheers

Hey there Ray :)
Have you used one before? I guess seeing is going to become critical. :hmm:
