Hi Folks

Check out this link to see a brilliant solar flare in the making.

NASA Science News for April 24, 2007

Last December, Japan's Hinode spacecraft observed a massive explosion on the sun. Researchers analyzing the data have produced a must-see movie of the flare's magnetic underpinnings.

I managed to see this on Space.com.

I think it's the same video. Amazing footage Shev. The amount of energy released there is staggering.

Not sure why the original link didn't play for me, I'm using IE7. What browsers are you guys using?

Hi Ray,

I'm using (at home) Vista with IE7 with Media Player 11.

Currently at work Win2k with IE6 and Media Player 9 and your link dosn't work for me here. But don't feel bad abput it becuase Shevill's link does work but won't play the movie here at work.

Has this error message - ActiveMovie cannot play this video stream because it falls outside the constrained standard. - I don't know if I want to know what a "constrained stardard" is. :duh:

Cheers Colin

Hi,

I have all the various movie player programs on my PC's, Quick Time, Reel Player, Windows player, Picasa2, etc. this way I am bound to get the right one. For those who cannot play it, I think you do not have the right program installed - just a thought!

Work computers through a monitored network may well be censored to prevent those 'other' movie clips being played!!
