Wouldn't know weather to imaging through it or cook a stir-fry in it.
That curvature is insane........

Hi All,

Forgive me if I am wrong but 20cm at F1 would mean a very very heavy 20cm long telescope.

Insane curvature is correct.

Imagine if you made a dob out of it, instead of ladders, you'd need a mat to lay on:Chessy_Smile:

That's what it was designed for - a dob for preschool kids.

As far as I'm concerned if you get it cheap enough you can use it as a blank and like he says start from scratch.

I know the effort to figure a mirror that fast and it's more likely that he is getting rid of it because the figure isn't correct.

G,day all,
Not for the faint hearted thats for sure. Check out the reflection of the table edge and the lamp. all the other edges look nice and straight but they don't.
Probably cost more to ship it than what you pay to buy,LOL.

I wonder if one could adapt the optics from one of the Starizona Hyperstar setups to work with this one.

500mm focal length at 500mm aperture with coma correction could yield the ability to do prime focus imaging... This would allow smooth, clean imagery of virtually any object in one night of shooting.
