What collimation accessories are a must or recommended?

I guess thumbscrews are a must for some SCT owners. Why the manufacturers used to use allen key bolts was beyond me. They had obviously never tried to collimate in total darkness before.

I collimate by looking at defocused stars through a low power eyepeice. When the collimation looks accurate I put in higher power eyepeices. It can be painstaking but it seems to work well. I have a laser collimator but never use it.

I have a Cheshire/Sight tube collimation tool and use that, but I haven't got round to buying some "Bob's Knobs" yet. It works quite well for me as I dont not do Astrophotography.

When I have time I will start learning to star collimate.
