I took this shot on Saturday night just before I was supposed to be going out with the misses. I told her I wanted to quickly take a shot of the moon and it wouldn't take long,461 25 minutes and two rolls of film later, I was ready for my shower.

Shot through my Meade LX 50 on cheap Kodak Gold Petrol Station film. Or as we like to say in the film game, shot on Kodak Gold Petros Statos Film.

Noise reduction done with Noel's Space Noise Reduction action.

Yep I know the feeling, "I'm only going to be a few minutes dear, don't worry !!"
I'm surprised I'm still married........:putz:

Nice shot, can you process it a little to remove the colour cast?

You've done very well with filum mate.

Like most blokes, you love living dangerously, eh Radar? For a 25 minute 'rush' job, with the missus hanging over your shoulder, this is great work. I'm looking forward to the day when I can just slip outside to the 'observatory' and bang off a few shots, and I'll be happy to start off half as good as this.

Kodak Gold Petros Statos Film.

Lol

Sounds like us astronomers are a pretty dangerous bunch to be around. We should share war stories sometime.

I have one - When your woman says to you that she has a headache, don't worry, just remember it, then one night when she is waiting for you to come to bed, use the old "it's a new moon tonight honey, I'm stargazing" or (something to really annoy them) "sorry babe, not right now, I'm trying to find my first comet tonight", lol.

I'm sure these excuses will get you weeks of sleeping in on the couch.

lol, yes, wouldn't life be easier for us astronomers if other people were curious about the biggest and most complex thing around us.

I was reading an email from the astronomical society of WA last week. One member was saying how someone asked him how he could be so interested in astronomy. He said astronomy is 99.99999999999999999% of everything and we only know a tiny bit about whats out there. I agree with him, which means, people who aren't into astronomy only focus on 0.0000000000001% of what is available.

You're on to something here Radar. Most people can't get interested in anything further away than about 1 metre in any direction.

lol, dealing with marital issues is an astronomy prerequisite, to the point, where books sold on amatuer astronomy should have a section devoted to "handling the wife", or even husbands in some cases.
