Know the feeling mate. My PC won't let me in because XP thinks it is an illegal copy (long story), so I haven't been able to even get online.

Thats why you check ALL the updates from windows before installing them.
I always check for the Windows Genuine Advantage Tool in the updates , and not let it run.
Even though i have a genuine copy of xp, mine has been stoped by windows before as a illegal copy ,when its not.
Moral of this story...........dont trust windows.....lol

Same thing happened here. Had my key in a folder on a previous instal and with updating and changing CPU got lost in the mire. From what I understand, DSLR focus is no longer supported, but the guy is still collecting $40 to register the old 2006 version. Anyone know of a better, later program? Certainly not going to buy a key for program 4 years old. Anyway I doubt it will work in Vista or 7 ?????
Back to the knob twiddling :)

Whilst on the subject of software. My Celestron NexImage imager might as well go in the bin. That is no longer supported and will not work in Win7. Slowly Programs are fast disappearing and devices that worked are becoming obsolete.
I am now finding it hard to locate decent batteries 1700 mAh for the Canon 350D.
Found one site in EBay that had "1800mAh) and queried the item as I had an old one marked 7.2v/800mAh
It turned out his was marked the same he was selling them as 1800mAh. He apologised and removed them from his site. One has to be very careful ...doesn't one !! :frown:
Ah well back to that celluliod stuff with slots down the edges......

I had it working fine on an XP machine but tried getting it too work on Windows 7 it just seems to hang after taking a snap (in focus mode)
I have Maxim which does work to control the camera but if you are like me you probably like the simplicity of DSLR Focus
Chris Ventner DSLR did send me a replacement key but I've asked him if he is aware of any issues with Win 7, waiting for a response
and thanks Patrick for the help
