Hi Mick,
Nice work mate.
I love the hamburger galaxy one. I really want to shoot that this year.
Shooting at F9 for ten minutes is quite demanding to.
Now for my question, why not shoot these objects through the LX 200 and guide through the ED 100?
Cheers
Ray

It's good to see such a simple aproach (one single 10min shot each) and good results for it too.

hi Radar, firstly l prefer the wider field of view given with the ED100 and secondly the longer focal length and therefore greater magnification given by the LX 200 gives greater guiding accuracy.

Hi Mick,
Beautiful shots. Especially Centauri A - it really should be called the Hamburger Galaxy.
Cheers Colin

Wowwwww beautiful work on all these little gems in our night sky! Colour and detail are just outstanding. How do you couple your camera to the scope and do you manually guide?
Clear skies,

hi astro-gran, the canon is coupled to the ED with the Orion Prime Focus Adapter and then the standard Canon T-Ring. At the moment guiding is manual, l am finding that guiding through the LX200 is very accurate, l suppose due to the high magnification, and corrections are minimal.

Nice work Astrolounge. Your pictures (like all the others) have me champing at the bit to try my hand at some astrophotography too. My 'scope (Orion 80ED) should be here next week, or more precisely, the EQ mount, tripod, etc. so I hope to be observing and photographing with it in the next couple of weeks (have to go to Darwin for a conference next week - bugger!)
