I wanted to share an image from my collection of McNaught images with you.
It's probably one of my best, certainly one of my favourites.

Taken on 22nd Jan.
Canon 5D
EF 85mm L f/1.2 @ f/2.8
ISO 400
25 sec on a tripod.

Cheers

Very nice shot Dusty. Fine detail in the tail, the clouds and the tree in the left foreground - great work. Looks like it might have been a pretty still night. Was it? And where was it taken?

Nicely framed mate. The foreground trees give it depth. .

What do you mean by F 1.2 @ 2.8? Does this just mean that the lens can go down to 1.2 but you selected 2.8? :hmm:

Nice work mate :thumbsupmate:

Thank you, the evening was not that still actually and actually there were bushfires in that direction (lower left) so lots of particles flying around and clouds were forming along the horizon.
This was taken along the eastern coast of NSW.

Yes exactly Ray, it's an f/1.2 lens but I stopped it down to f/2.8.

Hi Dusty,

Lovely shot :welldone: .

That bushfire on left lower corner adds a beautiful effect.

Another magical shot. :welldone: , you certainly know how to add that special something.

Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful!

Wish I could have been there to see this one, but your photo is very nearly as good as being there, so I feel I haven't missed quite as much. Thank you, Dusty!

Yeah the foreground in these images really bring the object into perspective nicely.
