Completely overcast.
Thankyou, Radar. I just wanted to be first in!

And the Weather Office is predicting overcast for the next 10 days, temps all below freezing, and snow. It ain't pretty! Next time the sky is clear, it will be New Moon.

Awesome observing report Rog
Here in Oz, we have a fire danger report each night on the weather. The fire forecast for tomorrow is "catastrophic".
First time I've seen that level being used. Weather will be about 40 degrees C, and really windy, so some bush fires will move quicker than someone can run.

You mean you may get to see a real blue Moon? Between fires and flooding you are living in interesting times. Are you bracing for a plague of frogs?

They were trying to wipe out beetles, so introduced the cane toad from Hawaii. Not a good move.

It cleared up last night, but the temperature was -15. It takes something really, really interesting to get me out in that temperature. And there's 20 cm of snow on the ground, so I have to shovel a path into my shed. Brrrr!

The world is falling apart, what with Extreme cold up north almost akin to the winter of 1888. Roasting down under. We are now having another run of 40C days. My electricity bill has gone through the roof keeping cool.
I have done some tidying up of my Astro page (link below) and added some more Lunar shots in large size. Also now has a direct link to my Google overload pages. I will be sorting that out as well soon.

And I am still going out night after night and finding the sky overcast, even if it was clear at sunset. The temps are hovering about 0 now, so it's not so bad to go out, but at 0º dewing can be a serious issue. At -5º and below, the dewing isn't a problem, but if you accidentally breathe on an ep, the breath freezes to the lens.

Meanwhile back in the jungle a Spikey Cactus plant in my back yard keeled over and died on Tuesday. Its been there for 15 years. To be honest I am glad because it was dangerous, if you walked too close to it impaled your leg with a very sharp needle.
I have a policy here, if it cannot survive the summer without water it has no right to be there. The only exception is my lemon tree, which is looking decidedly sick, despite a wee drop now and again.
Frozen EPs ! personally I think I would take a rain check on observing:biggrin:

I'm still hoping to get out and spend some face time with Mars. It's -8 tonight, though, with a howlling gale blowing, and cloud, so it won't be tonight. The weekend is supposed to be the same kind of temps, but with clear skies, and if there isn't a significant wind, it should be OK for observing.

Banged off a few shots of the 99.9% moon tonight. Good viewing and still quite warm out there at 11pm after a 38C today. Mars sitting in the light of the moon about 10 degrees away. So not the best of viewing for the big red. Or rather small red thru my 10" and a 5mm EP.
I really need a 30+ inch and a few Tel Vu looking pieces. So I am starting a "Dave's Big Scope Fund" Donations (minimum $1000) gratefully accepted. I accept payments by Paypal :woot::crazy::bow::biggrin::eek::smile::wink::thum bsupmate::eartoear::rulez::yesplease:
