ASWA holds two Astrocamps annually, in March and October, at Dryandra - a dark sky site near Narrogin.
The next camp is on the weekend of Fri Oct 16 and Sat Oct 17, 2009.
The camps are open to non-members, however, the dormitory accommodation is limited (it's state forest - absolutely no camping) so please email me if you are interested in coming.
Cheers,

I just felt the sudden urge to add - is it really Spring already??? Good grief where has the year gone?

Wow, what a super weekend at Astrocamp! 60 people, 31 scopes on the field, two nights of clear skies, plenty of meteors, it was great!

Cheers,

Lucky bum. Sounds like things couldn't have went any better. If i wasn't all the way in Canada, i would certainly have joined in on the fun. Oh well, maybe one day. Would give me a reason to escape the cold once in a while during the winter months.

Cheers.

Except for a bit of smoke haze from a fire to the west and a little wind on the second night, it was fabulous. Out there in shirtsleeves till almost midnight. Our March camp is usually the warm one, October almost always threatens to rain and often does. This time it was glorious. Nearly 40 degrees Celcius on the Saturday day, so both Fri and Sat night I don't think it even got down to 10d C...:woot::woot::woot:
