I have been studying some noise reduction and scanner techniques tonight.
I managed to figure out how to make the exposure on my dedicated slide scanner last twice as long. This works well in bringing out faint nebulosity. So I decided to rescan the king of faint nebula, The Witch Head.
I have only applied minor noise removal on this image so far. I'm still working on it but I'm getting tired. I'm going to keep adding my progress of this image over the next few days, so that I (and whoever reads this) can see how the image changes with my processing skills.
