Had pretty good conditions over here this morning, a cold 13c with no dew and the occasional light breeze flowing through the driveway Started about 3.00am checking collimation, things looked positive with hardly any turbulence present in the star test images which allowed a slightly defocused star to be used. Got a little disappointed with the screen capture scene after locking Jupiter in , only fleeting glimpses of surface detail. Decided to wait until 5.30 to make some runs, by then it was looking better. Bit of detail in the final image displayed here , the top RGB Jup I went a bit harder with processing using images plus and PS. Think I might go ahead and get a 3x televue barlow to get some scale

Hi Beren,

Lovely shots.

I set my scope up last night at approx 9pm but the windy was blowing real hard and kept shaking the scope so I packed it all away. Walked out the back 2hrs later and the wind had died away and the sky had improved but I was tierd so just went tp bed instead.

Hiopefully tonight will be better.

Cheers Colin

Nice shots Beren. Ten years ago, professional ground based observatories would struggle to get those kinds of images.

And to capture, do you use k3ccd tools? Or something else? I find K3 CCD Tools not so user friendly. Myabe I just haven't used it enough though.

Lovely shots Stuart mate, just love the amount of detail your getting, especialy at this time of year.
How many frames did you grab/use with each colour filter?
The animation is very good also mate.
All the best...........

:thumbsupmate: Thanks very much.....Ray I'm not a big fan of K3 either I just use it for the screen capture , I thinks there a number of other programs that you can use to control a ToUcam....hi Tony with the wind thats been around here in Perth in the morning I have the toUcam set at 10fps which usally means around 800-900 frames in the AVi, I have the brightness set over halfway and the gamma over halfway too {in K3} and then adjust the gain so the histogram stays around 218 :thumbsupmate:
