Just for the sake of being thorough, I thought I would spell out all the clues to the Wow Wow Wee Signal in case some of you missed them.
Here was the annoucement -
It is still very early days and the team at SETI are still preparing their public statement, but word on the cosmic grapevine is indicating that at 06.45.32 Universal Time (no daylight saving) a signal was picked up that is said to be artificial in nature.
You can listen to the signal here -

The signal strength is enormous with radio astronomers reportedly having to "rip off" their headsets once the candidate signal was detected because it was so loud.
The exact star system emitting this signal is still yet to be made public but for astronomers who are lucky enough to have access to the Eastern Celestial Side Hemisphere you may be able to lock onto it using an analgue radio telescope setup. Just focus on the constellation Ursa Coronarus in order to track this digital signal.
The signal is said to be Amplitude Modulated and "hugely amplified". The FM frequency is also interesting because of it's audible characteristics.
Shoth Sestak of the SETI team said that this made the famous "wow signal" found two decades ago look meek. Detected whilst doing a routine scan of the ecliptic, it has already been given the jovial nickname the "Wow Wow Wee Signal".
06.45.32 Universal Time 2009 April 1st.
So what clues were given to know this was a hoax?
First clue, mentioning daylight saving on Universal Time.
Second clue, the audio signal is actually a sound that emanates from Saturn
Third clue, the words "rip off" in inverted commas.
Fourth clue, the words "Eastern Celestial Side Hemisphere", no such thing (I have no idea where I get this stuff from).
5th, no such constellation as Ursa Coronarus.
6th, describing the signal as digital after saying you need an analogue radio telescope system to track it.
7th, saying the signal was Amplitude Modulated which is in fact an AM signal, then going on to say that "this FM frequency is interesting".
8th, mentioning the name Shoth Sestak, when in fact the head of the SETI program is in fact Doctor Seth Shostak.
9th, Saying that Radio Astronomers were doing a routine scan of the ecliptic. Why any radio astronomer would scan the ecliptic is beyond me.
10, calling it the "Wow Wow Wee Signal". Actually, there are some astronomers that probably would go with a name like that.
And -
11, mentioning the date, April 1st at the end of the announcement.
Don't feel bad if you didn't pick up on any of these, because a lot of people didn't.
