I said i would try the wanted section here as im about to order from the UK in the next day or two ,
I would be very grateful for any views please
Thank you in advance

Hi Martin,
For deep space and planetary you need aperture, lots of it. Try and get something that is at least eight inches, even ten or twelve if possible. Are you hoping to do astrophotography with it?
Cheers

I think a dobsonian would give you the most bang for your buck. Try and get the largest aperture possible. Your views will be amazing.

Hey Martin,
I purchased the same get up from Orion a year and a half ago. All the specs for the scope are the same as mine and it would appear that the mount is relatively the same as well. I paid 1500$ Canadian (to my door), so that would seem like a very reasonable price if you ask me.
I'm not sure if the craftmenship would be the same (my understanding is that Orion, Celestron and Skywatcher are reletively similar) but my scope has brought me loads of viewing pleasure. I haven't done any imaging with it yet but viewing is marvelous compared to my refractor (for deepsky stuff anyhow). I've also viewed Saturn on many occassions which really impressed me. Lunar viewing is great as well concsidering the capability it has to magnify.
The only issue i have with it is transportability. It wasn't much of a bother at first, then i bought a refractor that came with a case and now i'm spoiled and require a little convincing myself to take it in the bush. I use it primarily in my yard now.
All this being said, i'm relatively new to all this myself, but from my experience i would suggest it's a good buy.
Hope this helps,
Cheers.

Hallo Saj
How are you ? Let me thank you Saj for taking the time to write all your comments for me . I really
APPRECIATE it ,
Its a great help , i went here http://www.xe.com/ucc/convert.cgi , and converted your 1500 Canadian
dollors and it came back as € 900 WOW , 900 EUROS is 1,216.14 USD , Good god Saj , thats a lot
, was your scope with the electric drives ?
That price i found on that wharehouse express is the cheapest in Europe i could find on the net , and
believe me Saj i have done real hard reseach .
Saj
thanks for taking the time to write
Kindest regards

No problem Martin.
It definitely was a pretty penny, but well worth it in my opinion. Yes the mount is motorized (Sirius EQ-G mount) though it didn't have the GoTo feature (didn't come with power supply either ... which ran me nearly another 100$ Canadian). I thought the EQ5 was motorized, is it not? If it's not, and you could spare the extra cash i would say it's well worth considering even for viewing (and especially if you become interested in imaging which i would assume you probably will).
Hope this stuff helps.

Hi All ,
Radar had some laugh re your April 1st post ,ha
Anyways ,
Just to let everyone know i have found my scope ,
I am driving to Dublin tomorrow Monday to collect
a Celestron C8-N
So , I am looking for some eyepieces that would suit a Celestron C8-N .
Maybe the Celestron Eyepiece kit or something , i have been told
the C8-N can use either 1 + 1/4 inch, or 2 inch eyepieces as the scope comes with an adapter so that you could use the 2 inch eyepieces too.
Thank you for reading
