This is actually a grazing occultation as visible from north of Kalgoorlie in WA, I believe. There's a talk about a trip to that location to record the event, at the next ASWA (http://aswa.info/)meeting on monday. Would be great to record the event but I just can't justify a mid-week trip that far :frown:

I was hoping to get to this but piked in the end as the weather was looking pretty rough. Two fellow ASWArians ended up going along with three other experienced occultation chasers and lots of equipment. Very serious business this occultation timing. Looks like a really interesting thing to get into, especially after seeing Eric Limburg talk about it at the Feb ASWA meeting. Apparently, the weather was looking bad all night and it miraculously cleared for about 30 minutes, with the necessary 4 mins being right in the middle. Lucky.
