The best parts of this eclipse are at sea, so unless you own a nice boat, you are destined for a partial eclipse.

See map below to see if you will get a glimpse at this awesome event.

I am going to try and take some photos of this event. May even use a welders lens to shoot through.

Anyone have stories of their eclipse watching?

We had a great time at Lake Leschenaultia near where I live photographing the eclipse. Found a convenient patch of grass in amongst the hundreds of Australia Day celebrating public.

We had quite a few people come over interested to have a look or confirm their suspicions that we were photographing the eclipse. Had one guy walk past muttering something under his breath about bird watchers.

It was great to be able to see and photograph an eclipse. It occurred to me while photographing it that I hadn't actually photographed one before. I vaguely remember another partial eclipse from 1999 I think it was, when I was in uni and before my astronomy hobby had really taken off.

My mate took some photo's a-focal through his PST, I just had my white-light filter (baader solar film) on my Megrez.

Anyone else?
