You need to tell us your operating system and specs of your computer mate.
In the meantime, try not to run too many programs at the same time and you'll have less chance of it freezing up.

Hey gramps, quite often a cpu freezing is the heat sink paste getting old and the cpu getting hot...
Its very often overlooked an in reality it pays to re apply new paste every year...
Arctic silver is the paste i use but as I have the same tube from 3 years ago, I am not sure if its still available...
I only use it on 4 pc's so it should last quite a while, cost about $10 back then...
