Hello All

Here is a very interesting Italian website, they have obviously search peoples web's and made a selection from around the world. I have not been through every image details, so don't know who from Australia yet. I got an email from them to ask permission for one of mine, that's how I came by the info.

G,day all,

I just had a look at that site and absolutely drooled. We have not had one fine day or night yet so you can imagine how i feel. Not even a glimpse of the damned thing.
From the photo's i've seen it looks like a far more interesting comet than Halley. Just our rotten luck!. Oh well maybe something will turn up for winter.

Nice to see yours in there Shevill.

Cheers all,
Duncan

Ps Think i'll move to central australia, lol.:ahh!: :bah: :I_ANGR~14:

Hi Duncan, this comet makes Halley's Comet look like a 10th mag star. The only reason Halley's Comet is even popular is because it was the first Comet ever to be recorded. Comet McNaught would have to be the biggest and brightest comet in recent history, and easily the most viewed and photographed. If you didn't get to see it when it was close I'm sorry to say, you missed out on a good show. From a dark sky location the tail spanned right across the Western Horizon. I had only seen the comet from light polluted suburbs for the first few days, then one night we went bush where the dark skies were and McNaught was nothing short of amazing. Those big tails you see in the McNaught photos was easily seen with the naked eye.

G,day all,

Gee thanks Radar!!!.Just what i needed to hear, lol.Up here we couldn't even drive to a clear sky location. There just weren't any.
However when i saw Halley i was in Sth Aust..Getting up at 3.00am to go snapper fishing and Halleys tail spanned over half the sky naked eye. What a lovely site it was.So i can only imagine what i've missed out on.Oh well just have to pray for something better to come along. And i guess thanks to the likes of you guys and gals at least we have all these lovely pics. Thanks heaps for them.

Cheers,
Duncan:welldone:
