I have only played a little with Registax. I liked the wavelet feature. Do you only use registax for webcam work or other stuff to (I'm still getting into ccd side of things)?

RegiStax is excellent for webcam work, not so good for larger format work (megapixel stuff). If you try to process DSLR images or film scanned images in RegiStax there's every chance it will max out the memory on your computer and run very slowly.
For working with larger files I'd highly recommend RegiStar, which unfortunately has a much greater cost associated with it than the free RegiStax. But it's capabilities regarding registering and stacking frames are exceptional.
