Just thought we should have a thread to discuss this very important activity carried out on this site.
Congratulations to Phoenix on his many high scores and keeeping the rest of us at bay :welldone:
Flash Chess,
Have you been wondering how to get a high score?
You have to lose and lose badly to get a high score. :hmm:
Winning and winning well gets you a large negitive score.
How to get - ten million? Wipe out all the computers pieces and promote all your pawns to queens, then checkmate him. The computer does try to get a draw.
How to get a high score? Lose badly, don't take any of his pieces and try and force the computer to get additional queens, without getting yourself stalemated and be sure he checkmates you. :thumbsupmate:

I'm looking into the weird behviour of Flash Chess. On that note, I'm also looking into the wierd behaviour of Astro Dave. But staying on topic.
I'm uploading more games soon. There are some new cool features being added to the site and I have busy with those, but i will endeavour to get these things done over the weekend.
Who's up for a tourney then? :hmm:

Has anyone else noticed the #1 scores on some games have changed and are lower than the highscore?
SD -Pong
The number one score use to be the highscore of 40,000. Now the new number one is 28,900. I wonder where that number came from. (perhaps it has something to do with proton decay or blackhole evaporation, LOL)
If you can get the computer to send a straight ball back to you and you send a straight ball back to it, then the game is balanced. You can then stop moving your paddle and the Ping and Pong go back and forth adding to the score. Then simply walk away from your computer for a couple hours and you will have the new high score!

I have recieved word from the Oort Cloud Supremo...
Every four weeks every game score is automatically reduced by 15%. People that have high scores retain your high scores and arcader status. Though this keeps the games competitive. People are more inclinced to challenge and play if they feel they have a chance. It also keeps the arcade kings coming back for more.
Once games get scores which are untouchable for most, people stop playing them. So the 15 percent reduction on all scores, not just high scores, keeps the arcade active.
Thanks Supremo for that advise.

Thanks guys for letting me know these old games are still there to be played. I didn't dare look 'in there' because I was scared of confronting something from the Id (look that up).
In reality, I think I'm really a technological dinosaur. I can just work this damn computer. If anything goes wrong with it I just grab some kid passing by!!
The young guys will pummel me ... I don't understand this computer game stuff.
