Hi all,

With inspiration and guidance from Paul and Anthony (They developed this method) from Southern Celestial Pole, I have completed an active cooling modification and tutorial on my C11 SCT, using Peltier coolers.

My thanks to both of them for their encouragement and backing to share this around.

Cheers,

Baz.

Wow Baz, what an awesome project. You sure can do some serious DIY.

When are you going to road test it?

Very well written up, Baz

I'm sure Paul and Anthony are happy that people actually use their tips and helpful information.

Nothing worse than giving stacks of information and poeple just gloss over it and never actually use it.

This might be a better link in 'South Celestial Pole' for anyone wanting to read more about Pauls conversions and tips, especially in the 'equipment' section: http://southcelestialpole.org.au/forum/index.php

Baz, your tute is nicely laid out and has good images to help how to do it :thumbsupmate:

Thanks guys,

there are a couple of direct links on my tut to Pauls to make it easy to cross reference.

Ray, I have a couple more mods to the pier and a dew sheild to complete before I road test it.

Also, I didn't put the corrector plate in the same way it came out, so I have to mess around a bit with collimation for a while to get it right again.

Cheers for your support guys, at least some forums are supportive instead of negative, nit-picky and full of nay-sayers. It seems the more technical a project is, the more some people seem defeatist and negative about it.

None of that here. Thanks all!

Awesome stuff Baz mate:bow::bow:
I plan to add a peltier to the cooler fan i installed on my newt and this has cleared a few worries i had, nice one:biggrin:
The newt was given to me in bits, so i had to build it up myself and i was not to worried about taking it apart again. But to strip a big Cass down would scare the hell out of me:frown:
Top mod and no mistake........

Tony..........
