Did an AVI of Jove earlier. Not sure why these lines appeared in the image, but me and registax just aren't getting along. Registax wants lines through my images, I don't, we just don't like each other I guess.
I really need to learn more about registax. But for an eight inch, and for someone that doesn't know how to use registax yet, I think this image is an indicator of things to come for me. I'm really looking forward to using filters on this thing.
I didn't write down any of my settings either, I was too rushed, but I will start taking notes. You are looking at about 1200 frames before registax threw heaps away (sorry, I have no idea what registax and I did :frown:).

Hi ray, Did you use multi-point alignment for the align process? If you did, check the single point alignment box instead and have another go at stacking the avi's.
Read down in this thread...maybe it will help.

Cheers Karah. Looking forward to using filters.
Tim I did use multi point alignment. I let registax choose the alignment points as well. I'll try again and see what happens.

Here is the single alignment in registax.
With the limit function where we discard frames, it still seems to keep bad frames all over the place. What is the best place to set an alignment point?
This picture is a stack of 500 frames. Some frames that have no detail or are blurry still make it in there. How can I increase the quality of what frames to include in the stackin so that the bad ones don't make it in?
I've used levels slightly to put a touch a colour as well.

Hi Ray, just a thought, when i stack Planetary avi's i use the userdefined alignment box option. You then draw a line around the object and let Registax do the rest. Also what lowest quality do you use?

Making notes is a great idea Ray, there has been many a time i have regretted writing down even the most innocuous setting or camera adjustment.
If not written down they can be a bugger to remember again or tweek.:frown:
You do get 'caught up in the moment' when you have a planet centred and in good focus and remembering settings seams the least of your worries.
Excellent images by the way Ray:woot:
