I went to a place called Golden Grove last night. I had three cameras going. All film. Nikon FM2, Olympus OM1 and a Pentax Asahi SP2 (which I love).
This was the first serious night of autoguiding with my ST4. After getting the ST4 a few months back, I realised that my polar alignment was going to have to be perfect from now on, because I can't see any dec drift with the ST4.
So after ironing out the issues in my sloppy polar alignment, I think I will be getting some good results.
I am picking up three rolls of film in the next hour. I'll scan and post as soon as I get them.
I love the feeling I get when I'm about to see my results.

OK, I am waiting to see how well a night you had with all your film cameras.
One thing about digital you can see the results pretty quick. I will soon be trying my E180ED with one of my DSLR's when the skies are suitable.
Wishing you success with your shots.

Okay, here are some of the results. I will post more soon. Polar Alignment was perfect (phew). Film was Kodak Elite Chrome 200 for the witchhead. All others were Fuji Superia 200.

I have a few more here to post. I just need to process them. I find superia is a noisy film. I use gausain blurs to soften the image. Any ideas on other noise reduction techniques are welcome.

Here are some more. Again, all with Superia except for M33.

Astronomical Twilight started at 3.30a.m which cut my night short. When I go to the trouble of loading the car up, I like to shoot until at 5.30am.
I have a couple of other star trail shots that I haven't had a chance to scan yet. I'll try and get them up in the next day or two.

Great shots Radar. Pin point stars, good tracking, good focus. You have captured some great colours.

Yeah, greens, yellows and oranges can be hard to get with film.

Great images there, you have nice pinpoint stars so your tracking is spot-on. I am surprised about the overall blue cast which seems to overpower the reds. Is this a film problem due to long exposures?
One shot (the nice red image) is much more natural, what are the exposure times and which are taken with which scope/lens?
