OK dont laugh but I have a question for the knowledgable.
I have a 10" on a dob mount and was wondering if anyone as ever tried to put slow motion drives on one of these scopes, hand wheel or electrical. I thought that it would make the scope a little more usable.
If you think its not possible I will go back to the Macadamia tree and sit with the rest of the nuts

G'day Age (is that an okay nickname?)
Putting those kinds of drives on a dob shouldn't be too hard. I have a friend here that has done it. You can even put on an argo navis system so that the computer tells you exactly how far and where to push the unit to whatever object you want. Or you simply push the scope around and the argo navis will constantly tell you what you are looking at. I think you need encoders for this though. That link that Pat posted is pretty good.
