How does Venus appear during its transit?

How did Venus appear from the nighttime side of the Earth during its transit across the disk of the Sun on 2004 June 08?

If you are on the nightside of the Earth, eg: sun on oposite side where the transit is occuring...........
Have you invented x-ray vision glasses to see through the earth????

lol ..... never happen.:duh:
Sorry but unless you have more info or have not described your question propperly, it can not happen.
Unless i missread your post.

You need to be able to see the sun to see a Venus transit. Here's what it looked like from my backyard mate. What did it look like from your planet?

This will help narrow it down a bit.

Patrick,
I'm asking seriously.

1- Did Venus appear in the nighttime sky during its last tranist in 2004?
2- If it did, how was its appearance in the nighttime sky while it was transiting across the Sun in the daytime sky? In other words, was Venus during its last transit seen simultaneously from the nighttime side and daytime side or only from the daytime side?

During the transit of Venus its appearance was of a small black dot crossing the face of the Sun. My question is: was Venus seen normally shining from the contemporary nighttime sky?

Seriously AZ, Patrick's drawing is the best explanation you are going to get. (top drawing btw Pat) You have to remember that when Venus transits the sun we are seeing the planet not it's shadow cross the sun. So you need to be able to see the sun to see a Venus transit.

Seeing and photographing the Venus transit in 2004 is one astronomical highlight that I will never forget.

Attiyah,

Of course it can be done.

Lots of people gathered around the hole in Earths dark side and watched through it.
