A couple a Jupe's...

A couple of attempt's at the big'un. The are both through the 9", with the DMK, first one @ prime, the second one with a 2.5x powermate. The seeing about a 7. Looked great through the eyepiece.

Stacked w/registax4, tweaked in photoshop, using levels, color adjust, gaussian sharpening, b&c, saved for da web.

When it rises a little earlier, I'll try again with the ed100, kind've do a little comparison.

Nice effort mate. I'm still working my way through all the planetary stuff, so I can't really offer you any advice. :frown:

Though I don't think the ED100 would come anywhere near what the 9 inch is producing.

What kind of elevation were these taken at?

I was capturing at about 15-20 degrees above the horizon, 3hrs before the meridian, (1am) just 45 min. ahead of the moon.



I'm still working my way through all the planetary stuff


Just remember, take lots of frames w/different settings, focus, focus, focus and...It's fun :biggrin:
