I have used my digicam to take an avi of saturn through the eye piece. What software is recommended to break it up into the individual frames? I'm a Mac user so prefer something for OS X 10.5 but will suffer with a windows program if needs be :)

Also... Does anyone use Stellarium, and if so, what do you use if for and think of it? It mentions control for the LX200GPS and other scopes.

Thanks in advance,
Ben.

Hi Ben I use virtual dub to break up my avi's into bmp files.

Then you can run these bmp files through ppm centre to centre the object in all of your frames. But I think registax 4 is doing this now anyway.

Don't know much about stellarium at this stage. Let us know how you go with the virtualdub program.
