How much space does this OS take on the Hard Disk.
On startup how much memory is being used with this OS, assuming no other major applications are running.
Cheers.

Hey there Gyro,
From the windows home page, it say you need.......
"20 GB hard drive for install with at least 15 GB of available space" for vista home basic.
512 MB of system memory recommended.
My advice ... dont do it , stay with xp as long as you can.
Cheers

Thanks Pat,
I had heard Vista was resource hungry, I am just checking stuff out for a change later this year, maybe.
I notice Dell still offer XP with their Vostro (small business) range but not on Inspiron etc.
The weird thing is that for the exact same (customised) high spec, the 17inch Vostro is cheaper than the Inspiron (including all taxes and delivery for both).
Dells marketing strategy is stranger than "Relativity"

20 gigs!!!!
That is a crazy sized operating system. What exactly does Vista do that takes up 20 Gigs? Does it put galaxy zoo on your hard drive? Or maybe the last ten years of the VLA's radio data?
Long live XP!
