I had another clear night(luckily), seeing was a strong 6/10.
1823
235mm SCT at prime
60fps>Gain=449>Exposure=1/109>Gamma=112
1824
235mm SCT at prime w/2.5x Powermate
60fps>Gain=720>Exposure=1/15>Gamma=67
Both stacked in RSV4, a little tweeking in PS3.
Ways to improve always welcome, '8/10 seeing' would be nice, I have a 5x powermate I'm dying to try out.

Awesome Tim, getting very close now. It looks like you got the hard part out the way.
Now from reading other threads, does your camera actually catch 60fps?

Excellent Saturn Tim :woot: :woot:
When i first tried Saturn i was taking high fps but found that i was getting a lot of noise. Someone on another forum i use to belong to said to try either 5 or 10 but no more and what an improvement!! I use K3CCD tools as capture software and set the gamma to about 80%, sometimes a little lower. Exposure wise is either 1/33 or 1/50 depending on conditions. Now i could be talking complete nonsense as i really still haven't a clue myself!lol But give it a go and see if that makes a difference.
Oh and i tend to take no less than 3 min avi's but try for 6 mins giving me around 1000-1600 frames to play with.

Seems like I might have run across something over at TIS's forums about the s/noise ratio and the amount of frames...but at the time I was more worried about just getting IC capture to work. I haven't worked out any of the mathematical part of the capture features yet.

The gain setting on the DMK if it is too high makes some noise, other than that the gamma works more like a contrast adjustment.
There is no more, or less noise created, no matter which fps setting I have on the camera.

A nice first Saturn Tim, well done.
You can only improve from now on.
