Some initial details on my observatory and equipment is listed under the IMAGES SECTION, for those members interested in various types of gear. We live on a 5-acre bush block just 12 km outside HOBART, capital city of Tasmania, the attached all sky image was taken from my front patio. Nikon D50 with a Nikkor Fish eye 10.5mm F/2.8 lens (180 degree view) 30 seconds at 1600 ISO mounted on a stationary tripod. Both Magellanic Clouds are visible to the right.
I took the wide sky cloud formation above the observatory in Infra Red with a modified Nikon D50 & 180 degree lens - it also gives an idea of my sky view. More images to follow. The all sky Milky Way with a meteor to the left was taken as the full Moon was rising, sky pale blue at ground level.
Regards
Shevill
