I observe satelites and the ISS whenever i get the opportunity. Some may find it odd, but i'm facinated with the idea that i know when they will pass and enjoy witnessing them. I've been using heavings-above.com and have found it extraordinarily useful. For the most part i've used it strictly for observing and curiosities sake such as witnessing the ISS trailing Jules Verne cargo carrier. It also list times of Iridium Flares which (by bad timing and circumstance) i've yet to witness.

I did take the opportunity to take a wide field image of the ISS trailing through Cassiopeia two days ago and have included the image. Nothing special really but i had some time to spare and though it may be interesting to use my new film camera for this opportunity (though i forgot my remote shutter at home and opted the digital instead). The image was taken within the city on a bad camera so the image stinks, but you asked and now you shall receive.

I'm hoping to observe the ISS with the scope soon though the bugger speeds by mighty fast and i'm expecting it will take loads of experience to view it let alone capture it on film.

Hi Patrick

Matt P was the recent imager....

http://www.myastrospace.com/forums/search.php?searchid=14271

I once observed the ISS glide past the Moon while I was LPIing, no images as the equipment is not a high speed imager.

It was great to see it zip past the bright Moon.

See ya

Matt

Matty P has popped out some cracker images of the ISS, he was even kind enough to clean up one of mine for me.

I try and watch every visible pass and find it a challenge to try and image with my C8 and ToUcam.
With every module added it is getting brighter and brighter.
The last time I imaged it, (the same time as Matty) you could clearly see the shuttle hanging off the side.

On a recent trip to the US I was fortunate enough to meet with Story Musgrave a veteran of I think 6 shuttle missions with about 60 days in space and a number of EVA's under his belt
