G'day guys,
I removed my Meade LX90 8" ota from it's fork mount so as to put it on the EQ6 Pro mount in the observatory. I was left with a set of naked forks.
I'd thought some time back, of having a camera platform with all the guiding and goto stuff included but it seemed a tad complicated till....... :)
I designed and built it using the Meade forks. This gives me a full computer operated goto system that can also be camera guided directly through the attached APM st4 guide port..

The center pic shows the OTA on the side by side system in the obs and the pic on the right shows the "Photon Turret" nearly completed but ready for a trial run in the next few days.
I have a few ideas for add on bits and pieces but this is her in all her naked beauty.

Awesome idea Steve. I've just bought a dovetail plate for my Lx-50, and was wondering what I could do with the forks. This is very handy. What do you use those LCD screens on the obs wall for?

Cheers

the small one is an A/V input only so is used for the wireless eyepiece camera. The big one is for the Shuttle PC or to give me extra room when opening several programs at a time. Makes more room to spread things out.
That way I can have Starry night open full screen and PHD and anything else on the second screen.
